Road Trip

Rich, deep, vibrant colors and expressive lines define this abstract painting on heavy, linen-textured paper. Make note of the metallic gold sheen in the photo in my Paonia, Colorado home studio. During the painting process, its surface was distressed and textured with sandpaper and water. Scroll through the photos to see this expressive, interesting layering and texture. I typically pull my abstract color palettes from 1950’s interior design color swatches and then put my own spin on them so that the resulting artwork accents mid-century modern and contemporary decor.

“Road Trip” is a flash of high speed views from a car window on a fall drive through a forest of green, blue skies and falling red and orange leaves. The swirling lines imply long black hair blowing and tangling out of a fast moving car window. Wild, happy, colorful and beautiful.
