Our Sparkling, Emerald Valley
Beautiful, textural painting of Mount Lamborn and adjacent peaks high above the North Fork Valley and Paonia, Colorado. It was created using acrylic paints and secrets on a 16″x 20″x 1.5″ Ampersand Gessobord and is set into a natural wood float frame.
I paint this scene repeatedly, because it is my view 24/7 from my mesa home in Western Colorado. There is a phrase used in these parts, “West Slope Best Slope”. Though I have loved my time living in cities, I agree that Colorado’s western slope is truly the best slope because of its sparse population, wild terrain, starry nights and wide open spaces.
