Robin Arthur Abstract Number 30
SOLD. “Abstract Number 30”. 2019. Acrylic on 30×36 gesso board.

In addition to my custom animal portraits, I create abstract paintings from my home studio in the charming little town Paonia on the western slope of the Colorado Rockies. It’s chock full of farmers, ranchers, hippies, coal miners, artists and musicians and is the friendliest place I’ve ever known . . . a perfect setting to create all day, every day.

I am inspired by both mid-century modern art and surface texture. I comb libraries and the web for mid-century color palettes and use sandpaper to soften the surface of my expressive, abstract paintings that are typically acrylic on wooden, gessoed panels.

Enjoy my paintings, and please do not hesitate to contact me with suggestions, questions or abstract commissions.
