expression engine vs. wordpress?
I’m thinking of doing a test blog with wordpress so that I can see if I like it. To be honest, I love ee (expression engine) but I don’t like paying for it. I also don’t like the fact that any commercial use = very expensive license. The thing is I don’t make alot of money as an artist. Sure, I make a little here and there, but rarely enough to offset my supplies cost. If I were to actually become a business again, I would definitely LOSE money every year. So, it’s a little disheartening and just a little insulting that all commercial licenses cost the same for ee. There is nothing for small businesses or even individuals who engage in some commercial enterprises.&;
I’ve used both EE & WP. I got in early on EE and got a free copy from the people who developed it. Before that, I had the predecessor to EE, pMachine. I switched to WordPress and never looked back. I like it so much better. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles; of EE but most of them are available through plug-ins. I would say that you might want to give WP a shot and see how you like it.

Hi Halima,
I also got a free copy from the developers and I stuck through it as the licenses became more and more restrictive. There are alot of things I like about ee, but I do feel restricted with the license and I can’t afford to pay for the commercial license.
Did you migrate your ee entries and if so how did it go?
I will give wordpress a try and load the web address for anyone who would like to take a look.
